Clashnessie Falls

Back Black & White

Clashnessie derives its name from the Gaelic clais an easaidh, meaning glen of the waterfall, referring to the Falls at the head of the shallow glen leading to the sandy Bay. In a decent spate the Falls present an magical sight, cascading over the outcrops of Lewisian gneiss embedded in the cliff face.
